nCipher Company History
nCipher Corporation Limited was founded by Alex van Someren and Dr. Nicko van Someren in March 1996, and its first office was opened in Cambridge, England, in November of that year. In September 2000, nCipher Limited (now nCipher plc) was incorporated and on September 28, 2000, it became the holding company of nCipher Corporation Limited as a result of a share-for-share exchange with the shareholders of nCipher Corporation Limited.
nCipher, Inc., a Delaware corporation and a wholly-owned subsidiary of nCipher Corporation Limited, was incorporated in March 1997. nCipher's first US office was opened in Boston, Massachusetts, in September 1997.
Today, nCipher operates and sells security products worldwide through a comprehensive network of partners and offices in the UK, Europe, Asia-Pacific Rim and the US.

- nCipher opens US headquarters in Woburn, Mass, outside of Boston
